Q. Do I need to
have an active wireline service to use the Unity Telephone? |
| A. No, you do not need to have an
active wireline service to use the Unity Telephone, but it has
the ability to connect to a Land Line. If no Land Line is present, the Land Line port can be used with a Dock-N-Talk and a second cell phone to enable two cell phones to be used with the Unity. |
Q. Can I dock two
cell phones at the same time to one Unity Telephone? |
| A. No, the Unity Telephone is
designed to connect to only one cell phone at a time, although
the Bluetooth Module will pair with up to 8 cell phones. |
Q. What happens if
I am using my Unity telephone during a cellular call and there
is an incoming landline call? |
| A. When you use the Unity Telephone,
treat all your calls like they are wireline calls.
Simply put the call on hold and answer the other incoming
call. You then have the option to conference the two calls
together. |
Q. What about Caller ID and Caller ID for Call Waiting? |
| A. The Unity Telephone is Caller
ID and/or Caller ID-Call Waiting capable, so the Caller ID name
and number will be displayed provided your cell phone supports
the transfer of information to the Unity. The Caller ID may not
be available for some models of cell phones, even if it shows up
on the cell phone display. |
Q. Can I use the Voice Dialing feature of my cell phone? |
| A. Yes you can if your cell phone
is able to support this feature. By pressing the '#' key on the
dial pad of your Unity and saying the name, any voice dial tags
that are programmed into your cell phone will be connected. |
Q. Can I use the One-Touch dialing keys of my cell phone? |
| A. Yes you can if your cell phone
is able to support this feature. By pressing the one touch
dialing key on your Unity telephone, you will be connected to
the corresponding speed dials of your cell phone and the call
will be placed. |
Q. What happens if I purchase a new cellular phone? |
| A. Your Unity Telephone is fully
upgradeable to support new cell phones. If you decide to
purchase a new phone, you should call Phone Labs first to make
sure that your new phone will be compatible with the Unity
Telephone. You may need to purchase a different connector or a
Bluetooth Module for your new phone. |
Q. What about Voice Mail messages? |
| A. You can immediately be
connected to your voice mail service by pressing the "1" key on
your Unity Telephone. If this feature is not supported on your
cell phone, you may enter your voicemail access number (usually
your own cell phone number) under the messages menu option. |
Q. Can I use an
Answering Machine instead of Voice Mail? |
| A. Yes. Simply connect the
answering machine as normal. If you have Voice Mail service on
your cell phone, make sure that the answering machine is set
to pick up the call before your Voice Mail does. |
Q. What is
Bluetooth technology? |
| A. Bluetooth is a low-power,
short-range, RF technology that allows the connection of
intelligent communications devices or appliances in a
household or office in a short-range wireless network.
Examples of Bluetooth applications are transferring data
between cell phones, radios, pagers, personal digital
assistants (PDA's), notebook computers, video and still
cameras, audio players, and local area networks. |

Q. How do I answer
Call Waiting? |
| A. When you hear the Call Waiting
beep, press the Call Waiting button on your Unity Telephone to
connect to the second caller just as you would with a wireline
call. Pressing the Call Waiting button on your Unity will toggle
between the two callers if the feature is supported by your cell
phone. |

use the Bluetooth Module to work with my Bluetooth phone? |
| A. If your cell phone is Bluetooth

products out there? |
| A. The Unity Telephone is the world's
only universal cell phone docking station telephone and charger. It can
connect currently to over 1300 different cell
phones. It uses an Active Echo Cancellation technology to help
reduce the "cell phone" sound and can be used with
or without wireline service to provide a true convergence
device with wireless service. |
Q. Does the
Unity Telephone work with modems, fax machines, security systems,
credit card readers, TiVo, DirecTV, or other satellite TV
systems? |

other satellite TV systems are not supported by digital voice
cellular service. |
